have a customer ever asked a company to outsource anything because they think it will improwe the level of the item ousourced(like cust. service)? Or is it a clever invention to keep companies like Mckinsey busy? ;)

It's a good question Anders and it would be ineresting to get the stats on how much of outsourcing comes as a result of consutancy firms as opposed to how much comes organically as a genuine preference from management.
